Kukatpally is a major residential and commercial suburb in Hyderabad, India. It is located on the northwest fringe of Hyderabad city. It has the highest density of population in the entire state, thanks to its proximity to the IT hub of Hyderabad.
It was a small, sleepy village until the state government's AP Housing Board built the biggest residential township in Asia in the 1980s.

Kukutpally is a major shopping hub in the entire IT corridor, with major shopping malls. It has a vegetable market called as Rythu bazaar (Farmers Market). Access to all types of services and needs are within limits.

Metro Cash & Carry, a supermarket giant, has its store at Moosapet, close to Kukatpally. But is restricted for businesses only.

Bus
Kukatpally is well connected by the state-owned bus service, APSRTC. It is well connected with the rest of the city as it falls on the road between Hyderabad and Patancheru, the last stop for North-west bound city buses.
MMTS Trains
Train station is close to KPHB colony run by Indian Railways called as MMTS, and connects to Hyderabad & Secunderabad and is often the best way for getting to the other side of the city.
Kukatpally Housing Board Colony (KPHB Colony)
It welcomes you with a statue of Mahatma Gandhi and an uncompleted arch. It was built in early 1980s, dubbed as the largest residential colony in Asia. Now connected by a new road to the HI-TEC city (Hyderabad Information Technology Engineering Consultancy). RainTree Park (Malaysian township) has also been recently built.
This area makes it a best choice for those on budget. It is often called 'the bachelors hub'.
Kukatpally is connected by a new 4 km-road with Hi-Tec City, passing through Malaysian Township and Hi-Tec city MMTS Railway Station
Schools & Colleges
Kukatpally is a major educational hub with several Engineering, degree colleges, junior colleges & schools.
It is home to JNTU (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University) which has its campus in this area.
Culture
it has highly influenced the culture of coastal andhra (as 90% of people here, from coastal andhra) It is also an educational hub, with many corporate educational institutions preferring the location.
