Wolf Lodge Traverse City

Great Wolf Lodge is a chain of family indoor water park resorts located in multiple states in North America. The first Great Wolf Lodge opened in the early summer months of 1997 in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. The original name of the resort was Black Wolf Lodge. The resort was soon confused with Black Wolf Lodge golf course. For promotional and legal reasons, the resort was renamed as Great Wolf Lodge.

Great Wolf Lodge in Wisconsin Dells is home to many large waterslides, including the Howlin' Tornado (a 4 man tube ride which involves a large drop into a giant bowl, landing in a big splash pool exit). The resort consists of three indoor waterparks, the newest being built in March 2007, and one outdoor waterpark. Each waterpark has its own theme, including a bay theme, a tree house theme, and an aboriginal theme. All of the waterparks have waterslides and all of the waterparks have kiddie areas, and a luxury Children's spa.

The principal ownership of Great Wolf Lodge was composed of brothers Jack and Andrew Waterman who were the original owners of the Noah's Ark waterpark, which is commonly billed as America's Largest Waterpark. Great Wolf Lodge's headquarters is currently in Madison.
