My name is Daniel and this is my userpage, created by me on October 6, 2008. My username was (Ablablafif2.1) so stupid because I came up with it very quickly when I was frustrated that I couldn't think of a "good" username. That is, a good username that had not been yet taken. As you can see, I pretty much made my userpage look like a regular article. I actually prefer it that way as I like the standard article format. I am putting Dimensia back on the map, I'll say. Since the creation of the article and many other things I've done since, the suggestions on Google when RCA Dim is typed in have gone from just one suggestion: RCA Dimensia speakers, to five suggestions: TV, turntable, amplifier, and just rca dimensia itself.
My story: I was in the Adirondacks where I go all the time and on the way to climb a Mountain along Route 28 I saw a console TV along the road. (I didn't stop yet) I am quite a collector of electronics, but I debated whether or not to get the TV as I was so far from home. I could see the TV from the top of the mountain (no significance really). After climbing the mountain I stopped to look at it and I realized that it was really unique. A. I could tell it was high-end just by it's look being an '87. B. the I/O panel including the mysterious EIA Multiport connector caught my eye. "Dimensia" meant nothing to me then. I decided to get it even though it was really heavy; my cabin doesn't even have electricity (real cabin) so I was taking a chance on whether or not it worked. (My vehicle did overheat on the way home almost a couple times).
When I got home I tested it and it worked. It sat in storage in my garage for a while and when I decided I liked it I put it in my room.
I looked up "Dimensia" and the CED magic site came up first, of course. I realized it was a really cool TV (even though mine was a lesser model than the commercial one). I got a Digital Command Center and a Dimensia Digital Control off eBay to unlock the TV's capabilities.
I have since written the Wikipedia article "RCA Dimensia" (along with over 80 other articles-Dimensia was first), posted videos on Youtube as "RCADimensia", created the Facebook fanpage, and brought it up in various forums mentioning it as well as a couple random RCA forums (I actually hate RCA besides the Dimensia and anything older; they sold out to Thompson SA or GE or whatever and their products are SO cheap quality- The Internet Speaks Out About RCA Products is a good forum).
