Best Night Club In London

The London Fog was a 1960s nightclub located on the Sunset Strip in what was then unincorporated Los Angeles County, California (now in the city of West Hollywood). It is most notable for being the venue where The Doors had their first regular gigs for four months in early 1966 before becoming the house band at the Whisky a Go Go.

The London Fog was located just west of the Whisky a Go Go, at 8919 Sunset Blvd., in the space now occupied by Melody Nail & Beauty Salon. Well-known rock music managers Tony Dimitriades and Elliot Roberts had their offices on the second floor of this same building in the 1980s. Long claimed to be the site of the London Fog, Duke's Coffee Shop actually replaced Whisky neighbor Sneeky Pete's, a nightclub featuring music, which has also been variously claimed to have replaced the London Fog, after Duke's relocated from its original location next to the Tropicana Motel on the northwest side of Santa Monica at La Cienega, in 1980. .

In Oliver Stone's 1991 film The Doors , the scenes depicting the London Fog were actually shot at the location that became the Viper Room in 1993.
