Coffee-Mate is a powdered non-dairy creamer manufactured by Nestlé. It was introduced in 1961. Since the product isn't dairy (with the exception of the Half and Half variety), it can be left unrefrigerated without spoiling. The product reached its peak of popularity in the 1980s.
Beginning in 1989 with Coffee-Mate Lite (low-fat) and Coffee-Mate Liquid, several new types of Coffee-Mate have been introduced.
Recently the European version of Coffee-Mate is manufactured without the use of hydrogenated fat which is linked to heart disease.
