Dance Team Towson

The Towson Tigers , formerly Towson College Knights , are the athletics teams of Towson University. All of the major athletic teams compete in the Colonial Athletic Association with 19 Division I athletic teams (12 in women's sports, 7 in men's sports. Gymnastics competes in the ECAC conference).

TU is particularly known for its 3 time National Champion Dance Team. Every year the team travels to Daytona Beach, Florida to compete in the National Dance Association College Nationals in D1 Division. The team won their 9th consecutive title in April 2007.

Towson's men's lacrosse team is a nationally known program, regularly appearing in the NCAA tournament. In 1974 the Tigers finished with a 14 and 1 record in winning the Division II national title 18 to 17 in overtime over Hobart. Also the team reached the finals in the 1991 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship and a return trip to the final four in the 2001 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship.
