Honda Financial Service

Honda Canada Inc. is the Canadian division of the Honda Motor Company. Founded in 1969, Honda has been building cars in Canada since 1986. The head office is in Toronto, Ontario.

Corporate head office

Honda Canada Inc. had purchased land in Richmond Hill, Ontario with intent to build a new corporate headquarters there. When infrastructure disagreements with the municipal government could not be resolved, plans to move to Richmond Hill were scrapped and subsequently were solidified in Markham.

The new facility will be a LEEDs showcase building.

Honda Canada Finance Inc. was established in 1987. Its name was changed to Honda Financial Services in 2008.

Honda Canada Inc. supports a network of 210 Honda and 50 Acura authorized automotive dealers in Canada.

There are also over 600 dealers for Honda motorcycle and power equipment products. These dealers sell motorcycles, scooters, mopeds, snowblowers, lawnmowers and other equipment in Canada.

Manufacturing

Honda Canada Inc. has two assembly plants located in Alliston, Ontario, north of Toronto.

An engine plant was opened in 2008 to supply engines for the Civic.

Sales

Motorcycles were the first Honda products sold and it was not until 1973 that cars were sold in Canada.

The first zone office was established in Montreal, Quebec in 1972, and a regional office in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The next in Richmond, British Columbia in 1984

An advance technical training centre was opened in Boucherville, Quebec in 1991 and 15,000 square metres of space for the third new Quebec zone office.
