McGlinchey Stafford PLLC is a United States-based law firm focusing on corporate defense litigation with offices in eight cities in five states. McGlinchey Stafford has more than 190 attorneys licensed in 19 states and the District of Columbia.
History
The firm was founded in New Orleans in 1974 by Dermot S. McGlinchey and Graham Stafford. It began as a small group in a single downtown New Orleans office. Since then, the firm has grown to more than 190 attorneys, 400 employees, and offices in eight cities. The firm serves a variety of clients, running the gamut from Fortune 500 companies to entrepreneurs to government entities. McGlinchey's New Orleans office also serves as the Dutch consulate, as one of the firm's members, Conny Willems, is honorary consul to the Netherlands for the states of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. In 2005, the firm launched the CAFA Law Blog, the first blog to focus exclusively on the Class Action Fairness Act of 2005.
Hurricane Katrina
With Hurricane Katrina approaching the Louisiana coast, McGlinchey Stafford implemented an emergency plan it had drafted after the September 11 attacks. The firm secured additional office space and 41 apartments in Baton Rouge for displaced attorneys and staff. The firm also provided two weeks of weather pay to employees after the storm and prior to the commencement of return to work. In addition, the firm allotted ten additional days of paid leave to all of its New Orleans staff, so that they could deal with Katrina-related issues.
The firm's other offices collected contributions for affected associates and staff. In addition, the 12-year-old son of a member in the firm's Cleveland, Ohio, office coordinated the donation of more than 300 boxes of clothing, food and other useful items.
In November 2005, McGlinchey Stafford began a staged return to New Orleans, with staff and attorneys whose homes were undamaged or repaired returning first.

McGlinchey Stafford has offices in New Orleans; Baton Rouge; Houston; Jackson, Miss.; Dallas; Cleveland; Albany, N.Y.; and Monroe, La.
For the past 25 years, the firm's New Orleans office was located in the Warehouse District. The building, a renovated 19th Century warehouse, was designated as a National Historic Landmark. Renowned architect Errol Barron, FAIA designed the interior of the building for the law firm in the mid-1980s. Barron's design won numerous architectural awards and was featured in Better Homes and Gardens in 1987. In September 2008, the firm relocated its New Orleans office to the Pan-American Life Center in downtown New Orleans.
