Nicholas Bratsafolis is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Refinance.com. Based in Manhattan, with offices in Syosset, New York, Boca Raton, Florida and Northville, Michigan, Refinance.com is licensed in over 35 states and specializes in Federal Housing Administration (FHA) loans. The company is a direct, government-approved FHA lender, which originated over $1 billion in loans in 2007.

Mr. Bratsafolis is a frequent commentator on the mortgage and housing markets and issues affecting homeowners, and has been featured in The New York Times , and on MSNBC and Fox Business News.

Beyond his commitment to growing Refinance.com’s home refinancing business and reputation, Mr. Bratsafolis has dedicated himself to developing an answer to the credit-driven subprime mortgage crisis in the U.S. To this end, he has authored a plan called “Appreciating America,” which works to help prevent foreclosures and reduces lender write-downs. The plan has received support from members of the United States Congress, and offers a solution for homeowners whose mortgage exceeds the value of their home.

Mr. Bratsafolis balances his business efforts with numerous philanthropic endeavors including endowing the Bratsafolis Fellowship at the University of Chicago.

Before launching Refinance.com, formerly Homebridge Mortgage Bankers, Mr. Bratsafolis served as general counsel of American Realty Holdings Corporation, where he spearheaded the ownership and management of more than 1,000,000 square feet (93,000 m ² ) of office buildings. He began his career as an attorney and worked at such firms as Weil, Gotshal & Manges, in New York City.

He graduated magna cum laude from Montclair State University and earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law.

He is married to Michelle Bratsafolis and they have two sons, Brandon and Joshua, and a daughter, Alexandra.
