Pizza Inn Restaurant

Pizza Inn (NASDAQ: PZZI) is a restaurant chain and international food franchise, specializing in American-style pizza. In many towns and cities, it is the primary competitor to Pizza Hut. The company is based in the Dallas suburb of The Colony, Texas.

Pizza Inn offers several types of crust. The "Original Thin" crust which is a thin and crispy crust much like a cracker, the "New York" pan crust which is not too thick but not too thin, "Italian" crust which is hand-tossed with a hint garlic butter, "Chicago" deep dish which is the thickest crust that Pizza Inn offers, and "Stuffed" crust which is similar to the Italian crust because it is hand-tossed but it has cheese in the folds instead of garlic butter.

It also has established a good market in the Middle East, with restaurants in Riyadh, Jeddah, Muscat, Kuwait City, Ali Al Salem, and Dammam, and in early 2007 opened three restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

F.J. Spillman founded the first Pizza Inn in 1958 across from the Southern Methodist University campus in Dallas, Texas, when he was twenty-two years old. Since then, he has opened over 800 Pizza Inn restaurants worldwide. With a vision to support services to Pizza Inn, F.J. Spillman founded Norco Distribution Center in 1965. In 1976, Mr. Spillman founded Quality Sausage Company to be another support service for Pizza Inn.

It is one of Six pizza chains headquartered in suburbs of Dallas, Texas. Mr. Jim's Pizza, Pizza Hut , CiCi's , Chuck E. Cheese's , and Pizza Patrón are the others.

The Pizza Inn Mascot is Jo Jo the Pizza Man.
