House In Rehab

Sober House is a VH1 reality television show. It is spin-off of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew , and premiered on January 15, 2009. Filming took place between late July and early August 2008.

Premise

Sober House is a continuance of Celebrity Rehab , in which celebrities with substance addictions transition from a drug-rehabilitation center to a less-structured, drug-free, sober living home. The home is run by "House Manager" Jennifer Gimenez and former stuntman, rehab tech Will. Bob Forrest serves as the head counselor. Dr. Drew Pinsky provides outpatient counseling to the recovering addicts during their time in the house.

Episode 1

The season premiere starts with celebrities from season one and two of celebrity rehab. Jennifer Gimenez, the manager, introduces each of the addicts into a sober living house and shows them the rules. Steven Adler comes to the house not only high, but bringing heroin.

Episode 2

The house holds a barbecue for the friends of the participants. During the barbecue, Steven Adler becomes noticeably aggravated, going to an upstairs bathroom when the power goes out. A heroin-caked tin foil pipe and a lighter are found in the bathroom after Steven leaves. After Steven continues to act in a combative manner towards the staff of the house and the camera crews, Jennifer calls the police and asks them to remove him from the house.

Episode 3

The police arrive at the Sober House and take Steven into custody because he was in possession of heroin. The next morning the residents question Jennifer's decision of calling the police. All of the residents, excluding Rodney, go to a nightclub where their sobriety will be tested. Everyone but Seth arrives back at the Sober House in time which leads them all to think Seth has relapsed. Seth ends up arriving at 2:30am, an hour and a half after curfew, to reveal that he really has remained sober throughout the night.

Episode 4

Andy Dick joins the house after 4 days of sobriety, where he shares a room with "Shifty" Binzer. Amber is invited to a party, which she attends, against the advice of Jennifer and the rest of the housemates. At the party, Amber relapses on alcohol and calls the house saying she will not be back in time for the curfew.

Episode 5

Amber comes back to the house after a night of binge drinking. Meanwhile, Mary is having trouble with her boyfriend, David, who constantly criticizes her. Seth becomes increasingly disturbed when David calls him a "has been" causing him to relapse; he abruptly leaves the group causing unrest in the house. Seth communicates via MySpace to the housemates where he leaves increasingly disturbing messages.

Episode 6

Seth relapses, sending via video messages to the gang; meanwhile Rodney King goes for a ride with Dr. Drew, showing him the route and just what happened during his beating. Later, the gang finds out Seth went into a hospital and may be in serious condition.

Episode 7

Seth returns to the sober house after waking up in the hospital a few nights earlier. Nikki receives two pieces of bad news learning that two people in her life have died. Mary is at odds with her conscience when deciding whether or not to attend/host Swingfest. Meanwhile, the housemates go paintballing where Jennifer's true feelings come out when Seth shoots her in the leg with a paint ball gun. Seth gives Jennifer some crack he finds in his shorts. Jennifer flushes it down the toilet.

Episode 8

Rodney King is fired up to start his own Sober House until he arrives at his house and sees the devastation wrought by his drinking and immediately gets discouraged. Mary Carey breaks up with her controlling boyfriend to the delight of everybody. Nikki sings her song "Inconsolable" and Steve Adler may have fallen off the wagon again. Andy Dick travels around town to make amends to the people he has hurt during his drunken binges to wary reactions.

Episode 9

The final episode. Andy Dick finally makes amends to his son Lucas who bore the worst of his drinking. Dr. Drew remodels Rodney King's home to his absolute delight and motivates him to stay sober. Amber faces the real world with severe anxiety but works her way through it to get her own apartment. Steve Adler is busted for marijuana use and has to go back to the hospital. Seth Binzer's new song is picked up by legendary producer George Clinton and has a new resolve to stay sober, thanks to a fellow band member also in recovery and the addition of two new bodyguards to keep him on the straight and narrow. Mary Carey and Nikki both face uncertain futures.

Season 2

On June 29, 2009, VH1 announced that a second season would air in 2010 after the conclusion of season 3 of Celebrity Rehab .
