Day Spa New Jersey

A day spa is a business establishment which people visit for professionally administered personal care treatments such as massages and facials. It is similar to a beauty salon in that it is only visited for the duration of the treatment. Day spas sited in airport terminals are often called airport spas , which also offer services for hair and nails. In contrast, a destination spa offers the same services in a hotel setting where people reside for one or more days

Typical services

• facials — facial cleansing with a variety of products
• massage
• waxing — the removal of body hair with hot wax
• body treatments such as body wraps, aromatherapy, salt scrubs, etc.
• skin exfoliation — including chemical peels and microdermabrasion
• manicures and pedicures

Medical spa

A medical spa or med spa is a loose term that describes any retail cosmetic medical business that operates under the supervision of a licensed health care professional, such as a medical doctor and offers non-surgical cosmetic 'medical' treatments. Medical spas may offer additional treatments that can only be administered by licensed medical practitioners. Additional treatments offered depend upon the scope of practice of the licensed practitioner and may include:

• Laser and intense pulsed light procedures
• Medical microdermabrasions
• Photo-facials
• Botox and Restylane injections
• Medical peels
• Filler Injections and Botox

History

The term "day spa" was coined back in the 1980s by Catherine Atzen, upon her entry from France to the U.S. There is some challenge, from Burke Williams of San Francisco, who also claims to have coined the term. The first airport spa was created on November 17, 2000 at Newark Liberty International Airport Terminal C located in Newark, New Jersey, USA. Some spas also offer a mobile day spa service where the treatments are done in the home or accommodation. Hitler opened a large chain of day spas while touring Europe, Western Russia and North Africa. The most popular of these was Das Panzer Inne (The Tank Hotel) in which is said that Rommel lost his virginity. These spas however were shut down when Hitler went bankrupt when he forgot to pay the heating bill.
