Jetix was a Worldwide children's television programming brand owned by The Walt Disney Company. The Jetix brand is used for blocks and channels featuring action-related and adventure-related live-action and animated programming that has replaced Fox Kids. It was also a Disney brand of Fox Kids. Disney phased out the Jetix brand in 2009 due to the success of the recently launched Disney XD name.Organization and ownership
United States
Main article: Jetix (US)The brand broadcasted in the United States as a block of programming on the Toon Disney television channel. On September 4, 2006, ABC Family removed the Jetix block, which continued to air on its exclusive home, Toon Disney. On February 13, 2009, with Toon Disney being merged into a new network called Disney XD (a new channel similar in scope to Jetix), the Jetix brand is no longer used in the United States. After the programming block's official closure Jetix's Website was redirected to Disney XD's Website
Europe
United Kingdom & Ireland
Main article: Disney XD (UK & Ireland)In United Kingdom and Ireland, the channel was launched on 19 October 1996 as Fox Kids and it became Jetix on 1 January 2005. Jetix was replaced with Disney XD on 31 August 2009. Disney XD also has a 1 hour timeshift named Disney XD +1. The channel is carried by Sky Digital, Virgin Media, and Tiscali TV in the UK and in the Republic of Ireland on Sky Digital, Magnet Networks and UPC Ireland.
France

Russia, CIS countries
Main article: Jetix (Russia)Jetix Russia was based on Jetix (Central and Eastern Europe) , but all things related to Disney were automatically replaced with Jetix promos,. Certain shows which then did not air on the regular Jetix CEE (W.I.T.C.H., Iggy Arbuckle) were part of the hour-and-a-half long programming block that replaced the Disney block. When Jetix CEE was changed to Disney Channel CEE, the Russian language transmission ceased. Jetix (Russia), now as a separate channel, continues to exist for the time being.In January 2010 Jetix Russia will be rebranded as Disney Channel and it will be the Central and Eastern Europe version.
Croatia, Montenegro
In Croatia, Disney XD was launched on October 29, 2009.
Serbia
In Serbia, Jetix was replaced by Disney XD on October 3 , 2009 .
Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia

Main article: Disney XD (Latin America)In Europe and Latin America, the brand broadcasts as television channels in their own right, owned by subsidiary companies Jetix Europe based in Netherlands Hilversum and Jetix Latin America. These channels are branded as Jetix. All previous Fox Kids channels were rebranded to Jetix by January 2005.
The European subsidiary, Jetix Europe NV, was listed on the Euronext Amsterdam stock exchange. However only 26% of the shares were in free float, as Disney owned the remainder. In December 2008, Disney announced it has plans to acquire the rest of Jetix Europe, as well as its intention to remove the company's listing on Euronext. This was completed in late February 2009. On February 11, the company president Paul Taylor was replaced by John Hardie, who is also executive vice president of Disney Channels EMEA (who was later replaced by Giorgio Stock on both his positions). The Latin American company is also a wholly owned subsidiary of Disney.
On May, 2009 The Walt Disney Company Latin America and Disney & ESPN Cable Media Networks Latin America announced that Jetix Latin America would become the Latin American version of Disney XD on July 3 , 2009 . Following the launch of Disney XD in the USA in February 13, 2009, Disney-ABC Television Group rolled out to France on April 1, 2009 and it is expected to be rolled out to other European territories in 2009. The Scandinavian version of Toon Disney available in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland is being replaced by Disney XD on September 11 2009.
Recently, Disney announced that the Jetix channel in certain countries (namely Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia and Bulgaria) will be renamed to the Disney Channel, marking that channel's first introduction in these countries. The change happened at September 19 , 2009 . Jetix Russia was not renamed at this time. There is also nothing known about the Dutch Jetix.
Israel

Canada
Main article: Jetix (Canada)In Canada, "Family", a long-time partner of Disney Channel's programming owned by Astral Media, began their own Jetix block on September 10, 2006, replacing the "Power Box" block. The original Canadian Jetix block included Get Ed , Ōban Star-Racers, W.I.T.C.H. and Power Rangers: Mystic Force . Jetix aired from 6:03 am ET through 7:45 am ET on weekend mornings.
Jetix closed on August 31, 2009 with no replacement.
Arab World
In the Arab World, Jetix broadcasts as a television block on MBC 3 airing between 11:00 and 12:00 (GMT), Saturday to Wednesday.
Turkey
Jetix Turkey was replaced by Disney XD on October 3, 2009. But there is nothing known about Jetix Play.
Asia
India
Jetix was replaced with Disney XD w.e.f. November 14, 2009, at 1200 hrs. (IST).

Magazine
In the UK, Future plc published the official Jetix Magazine. Published every four weeks the magazine featured puzzles and featured based on the channel's characters plus a six page Power Rangers comic, and at one point, the stories from the American Sonic X comic book series by Archie Comics. The magazine also come with a free DVD featuring shows from the channel.
In other countries, including Bulgaria and Romania, similar Jetix magazines were also produced.
Monster Truck
In 2007 the Monster Jam monster truck series had a truck with the Jetix name and some characters on it. The truck was driven by Dan Evans , who normally drivers The Destroyer, and toured in the Monster Jam European
